Flannery Blair is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Margaret MacLeod, LMFT. They work with individuals, adolescents, partners and polycules, and families, particularly families parenting autistic and/or gender non-conforming children. Their clinical focus includes complex trauma, neurodivergence (including autism and giftedness), bipolar disorder, identity exploration, kink-affirming care, and the relationship dynamics that show up in queer, polyamorous, and non-traditional relationship structures.
Flannery's work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and attachment theory, with integration of Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and trauma-informed somatic practices. As a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500) and Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, they bring body-based awareness into the therapeutic process in gentle, consent-centered ways. While much of their clinical language is rooted in parts work, Flannery adapts thoughtfully when that framework doesn't resonate, drawing from a wide toolkit and treating collaboration, consent, and ongoing feedback as central to how they practice.
Flannery holds an M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University and a B.A. in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. They have advanced training in IFS, EFIT, Gottman Method, Polyvagal Theory, and trauma-sensitive yoga, with additional certifications in progress. Flannery identifies as white, queer, polyamorous, autistic, disabled, spiritual-but-not-religious, and a parent to two gender non-conforming children. Outside of session, they enjoy video games, yoga, long walks with their dogs, time near trees and water, watching movies with their kids, and comfort TV with their partner. Fun fact: they collect tarantulas, though they promise not to bring that into session unless invited.
Healing begins with understanding and acceptance of what is.
