ABOUT THIS SERVICE

What individual counseling actually looks like

Most people come to individual therapy because something isn't working, and it has been that way long enough to notice. Sometimes that's anxiety that has settled in and stopped feeling temporary. Sometimes it's grief, a major transition, a relationship you can't stop replaying, or a feeling that you're performing a life instead of living one.

Our individual therapists work with adults across Washington on the things that don't fit neatly into a diagnosis. We are relational by training, which means we take the context of your life seriously. Family history, identity, culture, body, relationships, and the quieter patterns that run underneath it all.

A first session is not an interrogation. It's a conversation. We want to understand what's bringing you in, what you've tried, what's working, and what you're hoping might be different. From there, your therapist will offer a sense of where to go next. Some people come weekly for a few months. Others stay for years. Both are good reasons to be in the room.

You do not need to know what's wrong to start therapy. You only need to know that something is asking for attention.

WHO THIS IS FOR

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

You don't need to fit all of these. Most of our clients arrive with one or two and discover the rest along the way.

You're navigating anxiety, depression, or a low-grade heaviness you've learned to manage but never fully address.

You're in a transition, a new job, a loss, a breakup, a move, a diagnosis, and you want support that goes beyond friends and family.

You're doing the work of understanding your identity, your history, your family of origin, or the patterns you keep repeating.

You've been in therapy before and you're looking for someone who will actually challenge you, not just nod along.
