Get to know me
Emily Harms is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Robin Beckley, LMFT. She works with individuals and families around depression, trauma, relational challenges, parenting difficulties, illness diagnosis, grief, and self-exploration. She's especially drawn to people navigating complex relational dynamics, life transitions, and trauma recovery.
Emily's approach integrates Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, with elements of CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her style is warm, curious, and nonjudgmental, with attention to the connections between mind, body, and relationships. She views therapy as a collaborative process, an opportunity for self-discovery and meaningful change, and emphasizes small, intentional steps that build toward larger transformations.
Emily holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and is a member of AAMFT. She identifies as a cis woman, mother, wife, and member of a multi-ethnic family, and is queer-affirming. She also navigates chronic autoimmune illness, an experience that informs the empathy she brings to clients facing health challenges or grief. Outside of session, she spends time with her family, gardens, reads across social justice, neuroscience, and trauma, and plays piano, everything from Beethoven to Guns N' Roses.
Small, intentional steps build toward larger transformations.
