Get to know me
Ania Malewicz is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Dr. Zain Shamoon, PhD, LMFT. She works with individuals and adults around anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, Complex PTSD, addictions, and relationship issues. Ania is especially drawn to clients ready to engage deeply with their vulnerabilities to make meaningful change.
Ania's approach is client-centered, relational, and deeply collaborative, drawing from the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Psychodynamic and Relational therapies, Existential therapy, and EMDR. She practices a depth-oriented and holistic style that integrates body, emotions, mind, and spirit, alongside attention to a client's family, social, and community systems. Ania views therapy as a relational journey, walking alongside clients to illuminate long-held patterns and foster authentic change through incremental shifts.
Ania holds a Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia Okanagan and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria. She is a Level 2 NeuroAffective Relational Model Therapist, a certified Feminine Embodiment Coach, and trained at the Outward Bound Canada Training Academy for Outdoor Professionals. As a Polish-Canadian, LGBTQ+ identifying person, newly married, and navigating life as a stepmother, Ania brings a multicultural and inclusive perspective into the room. She facilitates SMART Recovery meetings, volunteers with BARKA supporting holistic services for the houseless and people in addiction, and fundraises for crisis support in Haiti. Her work has been recognized with a Community Recognition Award from the Pacific Community Resources Society. Outside of session, she gardens, salsa dances, plays pickleball with her husband, and spends time with her kittens and stepdaughter.
In therapy, we walk alongside the patterns you've carried, until they begin to shift.
