You are not the problem. The problem is the problem. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Tacoma, and I focus on substance use, relationship challenges, and the patterns trauma and family history can leave behind long after the original event has passed.

I use Narrative Therapy, which treats the stories people tell about themselves as something that can be re-authored rather than fixed, and Structural Family Therapy, which looks at the roles and boundaries within a family system, to spend real time looking at how those patterns took shape in the first place, not just naming them and moving on. Substance use in particular is a focus most other bios on this roster don't name directly, and it's an area I take seriously rather than treating as a side note to other issues.

I'm supervised by Margaret MacLeod, LMFT, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, which means the substance use and family-systems work I do is backed by consistent, credentialed clinical oversight. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I bring the same structural lens to a single person's relationship with substances as I do to a whole family's patterns.
