Ashley Raburn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Margaret MacLeod, LMFT. She works with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents around substance use, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and the patterns that trauma, culture, and lived experience can leave behind.

Her work is grounded in Narrative Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. She holds the belief that people are not the problem, the problem is the problem. Rather than pathologizing clients, Ashley pays attention to how challenges have taken shape inside relationships, roles, and systems, and how those forces influence the story a person tells about themselves. She believes meaningful change happens through both insight and felt emotional experience, slowing down enough to notice emotion and body, and practicing new ways of relating in real time.

Ashley earned her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Washington. She identifies as a cisgender, spiritual person, and brings curiosity, consent, and ongoing feedback into the room as central to the work. She's especially drawn to clients moving from blame and reactivity toward understanding, connection, and self-compassion. Outside of session, she's into hot yoga, long walks, true crime, and reading. Fun fact: she once swam with whale sharks in Mexico.

People are not the problem. The problem is the problem.
