Get to know me
Carlon Ryan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Margaret MacLeod, LMFT. She works via telehealth with individuals and young adults around depression, anxiety, religious trauma, sex and sexuality, identity exploration, non-monogamy, and infidelity. She's especially drawn to clients ready to step away from preconceived narratives and discover who they actually are underneath the stories they've been handed.
Carlon takes a client-centered and holistic approach. She works collaboratively to help clients explore their stories, emotions, and unconscious patterns, with the belief that real change begins when a person becomes aware of their own power to rewrite the story they've been given by family, culture, religion, or community. She gives serious weight to cultural and identity forces, gender, race, sexuality, spirituality, family of origin, as forces that shape how people come to understand themselves. She often incorporates pagan and nature-based spirituality, astrology, and tarot into the work when clients want it.
Carlon earned her B.S. in Psychology from Western Washington University and her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. She's a member of AAMFT and AASECT, and is currently pursuing Sex Therapy certification. She identifies as a queer, pagan, cisgender woman, and brings that lens openly into her practice. Outside of session, she reads fantasy novels, plays piano, camps, mountain bikes, and has a special affection for Samhain (Halloween).
Real change begins when you become aware of your own power to rewrite your story.
