Karen Meadows-Hills is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Northwest Relationships. She works via telehealth with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents around anxiety, depression, trauma, women's issues, parental support, military and veterans' issues, post-traumatic growth, young adult challenges, and existential concerns including climate change coping.

Karen draws from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, the Person-of-the-Therapist model, Experiential approaches like Satir's method, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with additional training in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2). At the core of her approach is the recognition that sometimes a person knows they need change without yet knowing what kind. Karen meets clients there, drawing out their strengths and collaborating on a roadmap toward the life they envision.

Karen earned her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University and is a member of AAMFT. She has worked extensively with adolescents, families, and couples navigating significant relational trauma toward post-traumatic growth, and has volunteered with Crisis Connections in Seattle providing crisis and suicide prevention support. On a personal note, Karen has navigated the joys and challenges of raising four young adults and cherishes 26 years of marriage with her military-retired husband. Outside of session, she's often lost in a book, exploring new travel destinations, or out on long walks around Seattle with her two Schnoodles.

Sometimes all you know is you need change. That's enough.
