If sex or intimacy is the thing you've never said out loud in a therapy room, I want this to be the place you finally can. I'm Maren Wagner, a Couple and Family Therapy intern at Northwest Relationships in Tacoma, working under the supervision of Robin Beckley, LMFT, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and every session I do is grounded in that oversight.

I work with relationship and family dynamics, attachment, intimacy, and sex therapy, using a sex-positive lens aimed at reducing the shame that often keeps people quiet about this part of their lives for years. I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and Solution-Focused approaches to support that work. I'm currently pursuing an AASECT-aligned Sex Therapy Certificate, which is training toward, not yet, full AASECT certification. I'm completing my Master's degree in Couple and Family Therapy alongside this specialized training.

Transformation happens through connection, and when it comes to sex and intimacy specifically, that connection often starts with simply being able to say the thing out loud to someone who won't flinch. I work with individuals and couples, so this conversation doesn't require a partner to already be on board or in the room.
