Get to know me
Maren Wagner is a Couple and Family Therapy intern at Northwest Relationships, practicing under the supervision of Robin Beckley, LMFT. She works with individuals, couples, and families, with focus areas in relationship and family dynamics, attachment patterns, communication challenges, intimacy and sexuality, sex therapy, identity development, anxiety, life transitions, and shame reduction through sex-positive care. Maren welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and relationship structures, including consensual non-monogamy and polyamory.
Maren's approach is collaborative, systemic, and client-centered. She draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, while incorporating elements of Internal Family Systems. She works from a strengths-based, holistic perspective, helping clients better understand how their relationships, environments, and lived experiences shape current patterns. Maren believes transformation happens through connection: when people feel seen, heard, and understood, they're better able to approach themselves and their relationships with compassion and curiosity. She tailors therapy to each client's goals, pace, and identity, gently offering reflection and challenge.
Maren is currently completing her Master's in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University and holds a B.A. from The Evergreen State College. She is also a Sex Therapy Certificate Trainee aligned with AASECT standards. Before becoming a therapist, Maren spent over 15 years as an esthetician and educator, cultivating spaces centered on comfort, embodiment, and self-acceptance. She identifies as a queer, ambiamorous single parent and a third-culture individual, having grown up in a military family across different countries. She also identifies as someone with ADHD, which informs her appreciation for diverse ways of thinking. Outside of session, Maren spends time in nature, hiking, backpacking (or "wildering"), and paddleboarding, and finds creative expression through art and dance.
Transformation happens through connection. When you feel seen, the rest gets easier.
