Mona Jones is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Northwest Relationships. She works via telehealth with adolescents, parents, couples, and families around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting and co-parenting challenges, neurodiversity, family therapy, and sex therapy. Mona is especially drawn to clients experiencing high emotional stress, parents concerned about their children's wellbeing, adolescents looking for a safe space to explore, and couples working toward harmony.

Mona's practice draws on CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, with specialized training in trauma counseling. Her style is compassionate, reflective, and infused with a real sense of humor, and she believes the therapeutic relationship itself is what carries the work. She helps clients see their lives through new lenses, and considers humor a real therapeutic tool, alongside honesty, empathy, and steady presence.

Mona earned her M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and her B.A. in English from the University of Washington. As a Chamorro from the island of Saipan, a mom in a blended family, and someone who has raised neurodivergent children, she brings cultural competence and lived empathy into her work. Mona has also spent over a decade as a stand-up comedian and emcee, an experience that genuinely shapes how she shows up in the room. Her presentation work includes a session at the WAMFT 2023 Conference on using pop culture (Taylor Swift, specifically) to deepen therapeutic conversation. Outside of session, Mona tests out new TikTok recipes, watches Bob's Burgers, and listens to humor podcasts.

Therapy can change lives. So can a well-timed laugh.
