Get to Know Luisa

Introducing Luisa Gallardo, a committed and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. Luisa specializes in addressing relationship issues, trauma, and depression, assisting families, couples, and adolescents through their unique challenges. She is a valued member of professional associations like the WAMFT and AAMFT, demonstrating her dedication to continual professional growth and ethical practice.

Luisa's therapeutic approach melds elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). At the heart of her practice is a client-centered and holistic perspective, aiming to nurture a safe and comfortable environment where clients feel heard and understood. Her therapy process encourages clients to revisit past experiences with compassion and empathy, helping them identify recurring patterns and reshape their interactions in a loving manner.

Believing in the importance of meeting the client where they currently are, Luisa respects each individual's pace and preferences in therapy. She's open to clients bringing along anyone who they deem essential to their therapeutic journey, be it physically or spiritually.

Luisa identifies as a Mexican American/Chicana, and her personal experiences, including parenting, further inform her practice. She welcomes clients from diverse cultures and ethnicities and immigrant families and relatives and is particularly adept at dealing with the complexities of infidelity.

Luisa firmly believes in the power of naming experiences to tame them, as beautifully encapsulated in a quote by Dr. Sue Johnson, "What we name we can tame, when we give meaning to an experience, we can tolerate it and even change its impact."

Outside of her practice, Luisa is an enthusiastic soccer player and appreciates the outdoors. Friends and family play a significant role in her life, indicating her deep-rooted belief in the importance of relationships. Fluent in Spanish, she can provide therapy in both English and Spanish, ensuring her services are accessible to a broader community.

Luisa Gallardo combines professional expertise with personal authenticity to provide a therapeutic environment where clients can explore, understand, and transform their lives.
