Get to Know Cheri

Cheri Keller (she/they) is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern who brings warmth, steadiness, and deep life experience into the therapy room. She works with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families, supporting clients navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, trauma—including religious trauma—and grief and loss.

Cheri’s approach is grounded in the belief that each person is the expert in their own life. She creates a calm, supportive space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion. Her work is collaborative and client-led, walking alongside clients as they identify what is and isn’t working, and begin to create more fulfilling and authentic ways of relating to themselves and others.

Drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (for individuals, couples, and families), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, Cheri tailors her approach to meet each client’s needs. She pays close attention to how each person experiences the world and adapts the pace and methods of therapy to support both immediate relief and long-term growth.

Cheri brings a rich and diverse life background to her work. After a 35-year career in state service—where she supported leaders in solving complex problems—she now feels called to use her heart-centered approach to help people strengthen their relationships and live more meaningful lives. Her own experiences in therapy, along with navigating grief, loss, and personal growth, deeply inform her empathy and understanding.

Cheri identifies as a white, nonbinary person and lifelong feminist committed to anti-racist values. She was raised in a large, working-class family within a religious environment, giving her a nuanced understanding of both the comfort and complexity that faith and family systems can hold. She is agnostic and spiritually grounded, with a deep appreciation for connection, purpose, and the natural world.

She has been married to her partner for many decades and is a parent to two adult children, bringing lived experience in long-term relationships, parenting, and family dynamics. Cheri values authenticity, growth, and service, and is passionate about helping others discover their own sense of wholeness and belonging.

Outside of the therapy room, Cheri enjoys walking, hiking, making music with her bands, cooking, watercolor painting, and spending time in nature. She also volunteers in her community, including baking and delivering food to support unhoused neighbors.
